FUA is pleased to announce Alix Osborn as the Santa Cristina scholarship recipient for the 2014 TuttoToscana special fall program. The scholarship can be applied to partially cover the 4-week program that includes the 3-week period of study in Florence and the 1-week of academics and events in NYC at prestigious locations such as the James Beard Foundation.

Alix Osborn graduated from Johnson County Community College with two A.A.S. degrees in Chef Apprenticeship and Food and Beverage Management. He also recently completed the summer graduate experiential learning in hospitality program at Florence University of the Arts. Regarding the scholarship, he shares:

“The James Beard Foundation is something I’ve had my eye on since I began cooking. The foundation highlights the most modern cooking techniques as well as hosts the highest ranking chefs in the food world. Thanks to the Santa Christina Scholarhip, I have the honor of taking part in TuttoToscana, where I will be attending two James Beard events in New York with many other young educated professionals.”

Santa Cristina is a Tuscan wine producer located in Cortona and is a part of Apicius Friends, an initiative of the Apicius Wine Department to gather prestigious wine producers throughout Italy to sustain wine academics at the institution.
